Reuben Te Rangi

Ahead of the 2026-27 season the BNZ Breakers most experienced player is preparing for his sixth season at the club.

The 198cm forward has played 137 games for the Breakers – the 11th highest all-time - and 392 NBL games in total and looks destined to become just the third Kiwi after Mika Vukona and Tom Abercrombie to make 400 NBL appearances.

Te Rangi was a championship winner with the Breakers in both 2013 and 2015 before going on to play for Brisbane Bullets, South East Melbourne Phoenix and Tasmania Jack Jumpers. 

He enjoyed a tremendous 2026 NZNBL season when he was named to theAll-Star Five. He was the leading New Zealand points scorer averaging 22.4 ppg for Tauranga Whai and during the season scored a career high 37 points against Hawkes Bay Hawks.

He won NBL championships with the Wellington Saints in 2019 and with the Southland Sharks in 2013 and 2018. Has scored in excess of 2,500 career points and played over 200 NBL games.

TeRangi debuted for the Tall Blacks in 2013 and has since made almost 80 appearances including  both games in the June World Cup Qualifiers against Guam and the Philippines. He scored a team high 22 points in the double overtime win against Gilas Pilipinas.
