Overview

Kouat Noi, another new addition to the BNZ Breakers roster, has seven years’ experience playing in the NBL.

He began his NBL career with the Cairns Taipans and after three years in North Queensland he signed for the Sydney Kings. In four years with the Kings he played 128 games and was a member of their championship winning teams in 2023 and 2026.

He was named the NBL Best Sixth Man for the 2024-25 season, a campaign in which he averaged 11.5 points per game and scored a career high 32 points against the Tasmania Jack Jumpers.

In 2024 he made his debut for the South Sudan National team.

Before signing for the Cairns Taipans, Noi played two years NCAA Division I basketball at Texas Christian University.

Most recently he has played in the Lebanese National Basketball League helping Al Riyadi claim the 2026 championship.

Noi’s father Ater Dhiu played for the Sudan national basketball team while former Breakers Development player Yuat Alok is a cousin. Noi was born in Khartoum but after conflict flared in Sudan the family moved to Australia where he grew up in Newcastle.
