The Sky Sport Breakers are parting ways with star Shooting Guard Corey Webster.
The departure is by mutual consent despite two years still to run on his contract.
The 32-year-old is the fifth most capped player in Breakers’ history behind Tom Abercrombie, Mika Vukona, Paul Henare, and Alex Pledger.
He has had a stellar career at the Breakers, having played 236 games over 11 seasons, and was part of the teams that won NBL championships in 2011, 2013, and 2015.
Webster has had four separate stints at the club stretching back to 2008; he averaged 11.3 points and 2.1 assists.
"Thank you to the Breakers sponsors, members and fans," says Webster.
"Over the years, we wouldn’t have been able to be a successful club without you. To the sponsors especially in these unprecedented times thank you for your support.
"I hope to return to the club in the future and finish my career for my home team."
Owner Matt Walsh says Webster has left an indelible mark on the organisation.
“Corey is one of the most decorated figures in our club’s history,” says Walsh.
“He has been critical to the success of the club, and everyone wishes him the best for the rest of his career.”
