The BNZ Breakers faced a tough challenge in Philadelphia, falling 84-139 to the 76ers in their NBA pre-season clash.

The NBA powerhouse Sixers proved too strong with superior shooting efficiency and physicality.

Philadelphia shot 58% from the field and 45.9% from three, Tyrese Maxey leading the way with 15 points. Reggie Jackson added 15 of his own, while Andre Drummond controlled the boards, helping the 76ers out-rebound the Breakers 59-39.

For the Breakers, Parker Jackson-Cartwright was a shining light with 26 points, while Mojave King and Sam Mennenga chipped in with 15 and 14 points respectively.

While the scoreline was one-sided, the Breakers will take valuable lessons from competing against such high-level talent as they prepare for games to come.

The BNZ Breakers now head to Tulsa where they will go up against Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday 11 October at 1pm (NZT).

The game will be broadcast on NBL+ and NBA League Pass.
