Biography
Having not played a game of basketball for three years, made an encouraging return last season with the Sydney Kings and will look to go up another level again in NBL25 with the New Zealand Breakers.
Despite his credentials as a former NBA big man, it was a great unknown how he would return after his break from the game, but showed he still has plenty to offer with the Kings in NBL24.
Ended up averaging 8.5 points and 6.4 rebounds on 38 per cent three-point shooting including a night of going 7/8 from downtown against the Perth Wildcats.
The 28-year-old power forward was born in Melbourne but mostly grew up in Sydney with his father, Bruce, one of the all-time great of the NBL with the Eastside Spectres, Westside Saints, South East Melbourne Magic, Sydney Kings and West Sydney Razorbacks.
Moved to the US in 2013 aged 17 and signed with UCLA, where he went on to play two seasons with the Bruins before leaving to declare for the 2016 NBA Draft.
Started his professional career in Serbia with FMP Meridian and then in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv, before signing with the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA for 2018/19.
Played 54 games that first season with the Sixers, including 10 as a starter and part of the playoff run with 4.7 points and 3.8 rebounds, while shooting the three ball at 35.4 per cent.
Split his time between the 76ers and Phoenix Suns in the 2019/20 NBA season, before deciding to retire from basketball on the back of that campaign to focus on a cryptocurrency career.
Then made a strong return with the Kings before a season in Puerto Rico with Arecibo for 10.9 points and 8.3 rebounds on 44 per cent three-point shooting now ahead of joining the Breakers.
