Sky Sport Breakers Resigned to Playing All NBL22 in Australia

The Sky Sport Breakers are facing the reality that they are likely to play all their ‘home’ games in Australia this season.

It is an unpalatable thought but one that has become reality following the Omicron outbreak in Australia.

With borders closed until at least February 28, and the likelihood that any visiting team would have to quarantine if they came to New Zealand, planning has begun to play all 14 home games in Australia.

The exact makeup of how that looks is still in the air.

The desire to win the championship does not change with this realisation, however, the organisation understands how frustrating it is for fans to not have home games to look forward to in New Zealand.

The Breakers will continue to share updates on our schedule and movements within Australia as we find out more and will be working with Sky Sport to ensure the best possible broadcast options.

For anyone who has purchased individual game tickets for Spark or Trusts Arena, you will hear from Ticketmaster shortly on ways to obtain a refund.

Thanks again Breaker Nation for all your support - it means the world to us. Omicron is just another obstacle for us all, but nothing we can't overcome.
