Game On for Fans: Free Public Transport to All BNZ Breakers Home Games with AT

The BNZ Breakers are thrilled to announce a landmark partnership which will see free public transport bus and train to all BNZ breakers games this season.

The BNZ Breakers have partnered with AT for all 14 home games this season, meaning ticket holders and members can travel for free to Spark Arena on AT buses and trains using their game ticket. Free travel will be available from two hours prior to doors opening through to the end of daily public transport services. Fans will just need to show their game day ticket to AT staff when boarding your service and remember to keep your ticket for the ride home.  

BNZ Breakers CEO Troy Georgiu described the partnership as a huge win for the club’s loyal fanbase.

“We are delighted to have the support of AT to enable our fans to get to and from our home games safely and for free with their game-day ticket all season. This is a great collaboration with AT that enhances the game day experience for our fans and encourages families to make the journey to Spark Arena from anywhere in Auckland. It's make attending a BNZ Breakers game more affordable for our fans, particularly families, which is fantastic”

AT CEO Stacey van der Putten says it’s a win-win for both AT and the BNZ Breakers.  

“This is an exciting step forward in encouraging members and fans to use public transport to attend games.  

The BNZ Breakers are one of New Zealand’s most popular and successful sports teams, and we are proud to support them and their fans as they chase a fifth NBL title, starting this Sunday against the Illawarra Hawks.

With the opening of the City Rail Link, travelling to major event venues in Auckland like Spark Arena is faster and easier than ever. As always, we encourage those going to games to allow plenty of time for your journey and plan your route using the AT Journey Planner.”  

Travelling to Spark Arena with City Rail Link  

Waitematā Station remains the transport hub for events at Spark Arena and, with the opening of the City Rail Link there are more frequent trains from South, East and West Auckland. Waitematā Station is only a 12-minute walk from Spark Arena or you can connect to one of the scheduled buses (such as the Innerlink) that will take you within two minutes walk of the venue.  

Travelling by train from the city  

Meet up at some of our city’s great bars, pubs and eateries around Te Waihorotiu and Karanga-a-Hape stations, then jump on either the East West (E-W) or South City (S-C) lines to Waitematā Station.  

Travelling by train from South Auckland  

Train directly to Waitematā Station on the South City Line (S-C) which runs between Pukekohe and Newmarket via Waitemata. Travelling by train from East Auckland Train directly to Waitematā Station on the East West Line (E-W) starting at Manukau Station.  

Travelling by train and bus from West Auckland  

Train directly to Waitematā Station on the East West Line (E-W) starting at Swanson Station. Or if you’re travelling by bus from West Auckland, the Western Express 1 (WX1) will take you to Lower Albert Street which is a 15-minute walk from Spark Arena.  

Travelling by bus from North Auckland  

If you’re travelling from the North Shore, the Northern Express 1 (NX1) bus will take you to Lower Albert Street which is a 15-minute walk from Spark Arena.
