The BNZ Breakers and Tasmania JackJumpers are adding a splash of festive fun to this year’s Christmas Day game, with both teams set to debut their custom-designed Christmas jerseys.

This marks the first time the two teams will collaborate on wearing Christmas jerseys, sharing the spirit of the season both on and off the court.

Both teams will sport festive ‘ugly Christmas sweater’ designs, with the JackJumpers showcasing traditional red and green, and New Zealand in their signature pink and blue.

Christmas Uniform Auction

This year’s jerseys will be available to purchase through a charity auction.

Fans can bid on game-worn BNZ Breakers Christmas uniforms, with all proceeds going to The Salvation Army.

The auction starts at midday on Wednesday 18th December and closes at midnight on Friday 27th December.

"We’re really looking forward to our Christmas Day match-up against the JackJumpers. We have had a lot of fun creating the Christmas jersey and think players and fans alike will enjoy the festive Kiwi flavour we’ve added to our design," BNZ Breakers CEO Lisa Edser said.

Christine Finnegan, CEO of the Tasmania JackJumpers, added the excitement.

"Our Christmas Day game is about more than basketball—it’s a chance for families and fans to come together, celebrate the season, and create special memories. Whether you’re cheering in the arena or watching from home, this game is for everyone who values community and connection."

The BNZ Breakers and Tasmania JackJumpers and Breakers tip-off at 8:00 pm NZDT on Wednesday 25 December at MyState Bank Arena and will be broadcast live on ESPN and free-to-air on TVNZ+.

Breakers fans will have the chance to see the seasonal uniform at home, as the team will debut it against the Sydney Kings on Wednesday 20 December at Spark Arena.
